Oboz's Firebrand II B-Dry Men's Shoe is a shining light in the hiking shoe market thanks to its material choices and design features. It has been conceived with the idea that light weight hiking shoes don't need to sacrifice waterproofing, traction or comfort. Constructed from a mixture of leather and a breathable mesh fabric your feet stay cool in hot climates but remain protected as you hit the trails. Waterproofing is thanks to the B-Dry system which is a 3 phase waterproofing designed to keep your feet as dry as possible when the elements try their best to get you wet. Starting with a tape sealed polyeurethane film bootie, add a hydrophobic upper material to keep the shoe water tight and finally the textile lining wicks away the sweat to keep your feet dry from outside to in. This hiking shoe is narrower in the heel to reduce slippage and features a wide heel box to provide you with all of the space and comfort your foot needs on those longer hikes. Oboz's O-Fit Sole is made from 3 different densities of EVA foam to provide underfoot stability and secure comfort. With a cushioned EVA midsole you have a midsole perfect for hard surfaces but capable of multi-day backpacking hikes. Couple both of these with an outer sole that has deep lugs which shed mud quickly and provide great traction on the trails and you have a shoe which is built for walking.
