OKA OKA, Leptoria Embroidered Cushion Cover
Description
Originally designed by OKA Co-Founder Lucinda Waterhouse, the Leptoria cushion range takes inspiration from the abstract patterns found in nature and the ornamental endpapers you would expect to see in antique novels, encyclopaedias and history books. Made by hand, the linen of each cushion is first pulled tightly over a frame to create a taut surface for marking the design, which is drawn on tracing paper before being transferred to a tailoring machine which creates the dotted outline. The pattern is transferred onto the fabric using chalk powder paste, which gives the artisans an outline on which to embroider over.
