Unlike border hybrid penstemons, Penstemon pinifolius ‘Mersea Yellow’ is a delightfully different plant, which is small and spreading, so ideal for gravel gardens, rockeries and containers. Slender, upward-facing, tubular yellow flowers are produced throughout summer, complemented by fine evergreen foliage, which has the appearance of pine needles and gives this plant its common name. Treat as an alpine and 'Mersea Yellow' will thrive in full sun in a very free-draining soil. Height: 30cm (12in). Spread: 40cm (16in).
