About the Artist:
Ian MacGillivray was born in Inverness in 1964 and after leaving art college made his reputation painting Red deer in the Scottish Highlands, perusing a life of painting, stalking and fishing.
He attracted serious collectors from the start, some of whom have followed and purchased his work over the course of three decades.
He brings a fresh vitality and clarity of colour to painting the Highland scene and his latest projects have taken him into the wilds of Africa and on the domestic front a study of dogs and hounds.
