This modern shrub rose bears its charming, flattened, rosette-like flowers above the dark backdrop of glossy green leaves, which remain disease-free. With a compact, upright habit this ravishing rose creates a sensational summer display in beds and borders. Bare root roses will arrive trimmed back, ready for the new season, they will exhibit little signs of growth on arrival with possibly some buds in view. The bare roots should be planted as soon as possible in the ground as long as the soil is not frozen or waterlogged, if this is the case, do not allow the roots to dry out, place in a large container and cover with damp compost, or wrap the roots in damp cloth. Your bare roots should be planted at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Once planted, they will remain in their dormant state until the spring. Above ground you won't see much happening over the winter, but the roots will be establishing ready for your roses to grow away quickly once the warmer weather arrives. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well-drained soil. Dig in plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
