Scabious ‘Kudos Purple’ flowers so profusely throughout the summer months we lost count! If you like your plants to be low-maintenance but to provide a full season of colour, this hardy perennial is a fantastic choice. Not only does it flower all summer long, attracting bees and butterflies to its nectar-rich blooms, but it’s slightly more compact and bushy than the original Scabious, making it a suitable option for a patio container display too. Grow Scabious plants in a sunny position on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil that is not excessively wet in winter. Water scabious plants until they are fully established. Deadhead faded scabious flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
