The R&D Strato Top is a real rider's piece, taking the experience of many years of riding in changeable winter conditions and born from the desire to have a versatile garment that functions in a wide variety of temperatures and ride intensities. The innovative construction takes inner and outer layers that offer specific characteristics and combines them in a 'floating' design. The 'inner' layer is stitched to the outer but sits freely underneath and is constructed from a brushed fabric to trap warmth but still offers outstanding breathability. Meanwhile, the floating 'outer' to the front adds breathable wind protection just where you need it most, at the chest and shoulders. However in order to avoid moisture build up as intensity or temperatures rise the two zipped chest vents, with mesh, gives excellent airflow control through to the inner layer. Lastly the outer is not stitched to the inner around the arm holes so offers excellent air permeability in this key area maintaining a sweat and chill free core. To the rear, the 3 rear pockets give you lots of storage space and utilising the same fabric as the front adds splash and spray protection to the lower back when the weather is damp. The typical winter is getting milder and riders maintaining more intensity through this season which is where the Strato Top really excels.
