Inspired by the opera, Aida, masterpiece of the Italian composer, Guiseppe Verdi, Stine Goya’s ‘Chloris’ dress pays homage to the rich iconography of ancient Egyptian art. The hand-drawn print paints a jungle scene, imagining birds, butterflies and flowers in romantic shades. Contrasting colour palettes are opposed as the pastel blue and rich burgundy print is interrupted by the black and white shoulder panel. The label places meaning in colour choice, and in this mid-length dress the contrasting hues juxtapose day and night, war and peace, to reflect the complex paradox central to Aida. The fluid silhouette drapes around the figure to form subtle pleats, falling just beneath the knee. The dress fashions a relaxed fit and the long sleeves fall loosely, tonally blending into the jungle of this design. 100% Viscose Model is 174cm/5'8.5 and wears a size S.
