Description
Korean Fir (Abies koreana) is an extraordinary ornamental hardy tree for the garden. Holding an RHS Award of Garden Merit for its garden performance this enchanting evergreen makes a stunning specimen tree and offers year-round structure and interest. Extraordinary violet-blue cones form each summer, adorning the branches of dark evergreen foliage through winter. The cones even form on young trees once they reach 60cm tall. With maturity this plant will have a full conical appearance, with branches of more rounded and soft needles twirling around its central stem. Give this low-maintenance tree enough room to achieve its full potential of up to 10m with a spread of 6m. It’s slow-growing habit means it will remain a manageable size for many years though. Supplied as a single stem bareroot tree. Grow in full sun, in moist, fertile, neutral to slightly acid, well-drained soil.
