Description
This cottage garden favourite produces impressive fluffy white blooms with a background of bushy green foliage. A sweet, heady fragrance only adds to its charm. Amberboa, or Cornflower, 'The Bride' is the ideal gap filler for summer flowering borders. Make sure you save a few stems to cut and create a beautiful bouquet.Amberboa resents root disturbance so it is best to make direct sowings. Sow amberboa seeds outdoors where they are to grow from March to April or from August to September for flowering the following year. Choose a position in full sun on well drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of 6mm (1/4") in drills spaced 30cm (12") apart. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes 14-21days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 30cm (12") apart.Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead faded amberboa flowers to prolong the flowering period.ProductSpecifications:Position in: full sunHeight: Up to 60cmSpread: Up to 30cmSupplied as 1 Packet of 50 SeedsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
