Growing your own Courgettes couldn’t be simpler! These tasty vegetables have a reputation for being easy to grow from seed, whether you’re a beginner gardener or a seasoned grower. Courgette ‘Defender’ has all the vigour that you would expect from an F1 variety. The plants are compact, producing heavy yields, from mid-June right through to October. Plants have a naturally open habit making it easy to pick the firm, green Courgettes. Recognised as an outstanding variety with an RHS Award of Garden Merit. Courgette ‘Defender’ is a customer favourite. It shows good resistance to Cucumber Mosaic Virus, helping plants to remain in good health throughout the growing season. Sow courgette seeds in individual 7.5cm (3”) pots indoors. When plants are well grown, and all risk of frost has passed, plant them outdoors in rich, fertile soil in a sunny position. Feed and water regularly throughout the summer. Harvest crops regularly to encourage more courgettes to be produced.
