Description
Copper Beech plants form a thick, interwoven hedge of colourful foliage that is ideal for security as well as looking extremely decorative and benefiting wildlife. Ideal for hedging or screening, although Copper beech can reach 12m tall it can be kept to almost any height required with pruning, which will help maintain good density and a tidy form. Fagus sylvatica f. purpurea hold most of its leaves over winter even though they have died off – this helps to keep privacy to a maximum and shield the new growth the following spring. This well-behaved hedging plant is easy to maintain – clip just once or twice a year.
