Thompson & Morgan Fig (Ficus) Dalmatie (Bush) 3L Potted Plant X 1
Description
Fig 'Dalmatie' - This Fig variety is one of the best for the UK climate as it is fully hardy! Fig 'Dalmatie' produces large, delicious fruits with a smooth amber flesh. It often produces two crops per year, but its first crop cannot tolerate drops in temperature so loses its fruit before it ripens. However, the second crop later in the year produces more and even bigger fruits to make up for it! A neat and compact shrub, making it the ideal choice for smaller gardens.Ideal For: Patio, Kitchen Garden, Greenhouse, Walls And Fences, Exotic Garden, Specimen PlantHardiness: HardyPosition In: Full sunHeight: Up to 250cmSpread: Up to 200cmFig 'Dalmatie' is supplied in 3 litre pots.Grow fig trees in a sheltered, sunny position. A warm, south facing site against a wall is ideal. Figs prefer a moisture retentive, fertile, well drained soil that is slightly alkaline. Prior to planting fig trees, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole. Figs have a vigorous growth habit but can be restricted by constructing a 60cm (2') square, open bottomed brick or concrete pit around the root system. Add a 15cm (6") layer of broken stone to the base of the pit. Alternatively plant figs in large patio containers using a well drained compost such as John Innes No.3. When growing fig trees in containers they should be repotted every two years. If figs are to be wall trained, install support wires prior to planting.Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions may vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but may vary due to seasonality changes and may not be the exact variety.
