Description
Trachelospermum jasminoides, commonly known as Star Jasmine, is not actually part of the jasmine family, although it does have a similar look. This vigorous evergreen climber is the ideal plant for providing a year-round screen of attractive glossy leaves on woody, twining stems. From mid-summer onwards, it bursts into bloom with clusters of pretty star-like flowers which have a delicate, sweet fragrance - perfect for growing next to a seating area where the perfume can be appreciated on warm summer evenings. This easy-to-grow climber has a relatively unfussy nature, thriving in most conditions and putting on a wonderful, effortless display. During autumn, you’ll be rewarded with another burst of colour from the foliage, which turns to a deep red and bronze.2-litre potted star jasmine plants can be planted straight outside during mild conditions. Plant Trachelospermum jasminoides in fertile, well-drained soil in sun or semi-shade. In particularly cold areas, Trachelospermum jasminoides is best grown in patio containers filled with a loam-based compost. Provide the twining stems with an appropriate support such as trellis, wires, pergola or arch.Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. After flowering, reduce the stems to restrict them to the available space. Caution: The milky sap of trachelospermum is an irritant to skin and eyes Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.Position: Full Sun/Partial Shade Height: Up to 3m when fully establishedSpread: Up to 3m when fully establishedSupplied as 2 x Trachelospermum jasminoides (Star Jasmine) plants in 2 Litre Pots.Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
