Description
This hardy, semi-evergreen Hellebore is perfect for bringing texture and colour to your late winter and early spring garden. Helleborus argutifolius Silver Lace produces leathery, deep green foliage, each leaf with spiky edges, which acts as an attractive backdrop for small, pale green blooms that emerge from January to April. Ideal for woodland gardens, or bringing an architectural edge to your beds and borders. Grow hellebores in neutral or alkaline soil, in dappled shade. Hellebores prefer a moist, humus rich, fertile soil that does not dry out in summer or sit waterlogged in winter. When growing hellebores on heavy clay or free draining gravel soils, add plenty of well rotted leaf mould or other organic matter to the soil prior to planting. Water regularly until established. Mulch hellebores with well rotted manure or garden compost each spring. Hellebores resent disturbance after planting and may take some time to re-establish. However when clumps become overcrowded, lifting and dividing of hellebores should be undertaken immediately after flowering. Caution: Hellebore sap may irritate the skin and eyes. All parts are harmful if eaten. Supplied as 2 x 14cm Pots. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
