Description
Houttuynia is a robust and versatile perennial, thriving in almost any position from full sun to dappled shade and tolerant of both moisture and drought. The heart-shaped leaves of Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' are uniquely marked with splashes of green, gold, and red. When crushed, the foliage emits a strong orange fragrance. In mid-summer, the spreading stems are adorned with pure white flowers. Houttuynia makes excellent ground cover for borders or boggy pond margins. Height: 30 cm (12"). Spread: 100 cm (39"). Supplied as 1 x 3.5 Litre Potted Plant.Growing Information:This hardy perennial thrives in almost any position from full sun to dappled shade, and is both moisture and drought tolerant. Plant Houttuynia in any garden soil or in the shallow margins of ponds with the crown 10 cm (4") below water level. In favourable conditions, Houttuynia will spread freely but can be easily contained if planted in containers.
