Sweet Spire enjoys moist, well drained conditions that don’t dry out in summer. Choose a position in part shade with shelter from cold, dry winds.Feed and water Itea plants regularly until fully established. Prune Itea after flowering, cutting back to strong buds. Mature specimens can be further pruned to remove a quarter of the old stems from the base of the plant.
