Description
Lavender 'Munstead' is a popular and traditional form of English Lavender, prized for years for its excellent garden performance, drought tolerance and overall resilience, as well as for putting on a fabulous display of colour and fragrance. This variety has compact and bushy foliage but with long flowering stalks in summer which give an overall more relaxed look. Quick to establish, it's excellent for use as low hedging, edging pathways or for filling spaces at the front of large, sunny borders as well as large patio containers. Throughout the year, the aromatic silver-grey evergreen foliage provides structure, colour, and fragrance. In summer, you can look forward to a fabulous display of fragrant lilac-mauve flowers which bees and butterflies absolutely adore. These fragrant blooms can be used as fresh cut flowers and are also ideal for drying. Easy to care for, drought tolerant and very low maintenance, all it asks for is a nice sunny spot with free-draining soil. Lavender’s dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. Water regularly throughout summer until lavender plants are fully established. Once established, they are reasonably drought tolerant. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 45cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 60cm when fully established. Supplied as 3x Lavender Munstead Jumbo Plug plants. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
