Description
Nandina domestica ‘Blush Pink’, also known as Heavenly Bamboo, is fully hardy and compact shrub, ideal for bringing long-season colour to beds, borders and shrubberies with the minimum of fuss. This colourful shrub is a particularly flamboyant cultivar, with new leaves emerging in spring with a glowing pink hue which becomes more intense as the season goes on, before eventually turning to vivid shades of red and purple in the autumn. This semi-evergreen shrub holds on to a majority of its leaves throughout the winter which gradually mature to green. These are then topped with fresh new bright pink leaves the following spring, then repeats its colour-changing show yet again, year after year. As an extra level of detail, this vibrant Heavenly Bamboo also bears dainty white flowers in June followed by small red berries. Compact and neat in habit, this lovely low-maintenance shrub makes a great addition to beds, borders or even large containers.Grow Nandina in a moist, but well-drained soil in a sheltered position in full sun. Plants will tolerate a wide range of soils, from sand to chalk and clay. Heavenly Bamboo plants are low-maintenance and easy to grow, requiring very little pruning, simply tidy plants after flowering to remove any dead, damaged or unshapely growth.Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 1m when fully establishedSpread: Up to 1m when fully establishedSupplied as 1 x Nandina domestica ‘Blush Pink’ Plant in a 3.6 Litre potImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
