Description
When it comes to growing your own peas, it’s hard to beat this flavoursome, reliable and heavy-cropping variety. Pea ‘Terrain’ excelled in our 2015 trials for yield, pod quality and taste. More impressively, it showed resistance to downy and powdery mildew too, even when surrounded by mildew infected plants in our trials it stood its ground and stayed clean! Sow successively in spring and enjoy a long harvest season which starts in summer and continues yielding tasty, tender peas well into autumn. Each generous pod holds around 7-8 peas.Direct sow peas outdoors from March to Early July, once the soil has warmed. Choose a weed-free position on moist, fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Sow pea seed in flat bottomed drills at a distance of 5cm (2") apart, and 4cm (1 1/2") deep. Allow a distance of 75cm (30") between rows. For successional crops, sow peas every 10 days.Support pea plants with twiggy sticks, wire or netting as they grow, and use fine netting to protect pea crops from birds and pea moth damage. When growing peas, regular and thorough watering especially when in flower will improve crop yields. Harvest peas around 14 weeks after sowing when the pods have swollen. Regular picking will encourage further cropping.Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 90cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1 x pack of Pea ‘Terrain’ 300 SeedsDelivered with growing and care instructionsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
