Description
Masses of cherry-pink flowers adorn the branches of this spectacular Weigela ‘Towers of Flowers Cherry’ from late spring to early summer. With an unusual upright, columnar habit, this variety is well suited to growing in narrow borders or patio containers. Like all Weigela, it’s tough and reliable, requiring minimal maintenance. Its quick growing, vertical stems make the perfect living screen on a patio or balcony. Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
