This delicious Vegetable can be used in soups and Stews as an alternative for Celery or even roasted or Mashed! These produce smooth white roots that do not discolour when cooked. These can also be stored for many months making them last longer and more useful.Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in full sun and well drained, humus rich soil at a distance of 30cm (12") apart. Keep well watered especially in dry spells. Hoe regularly and remove any side shoots which may form. Harvest the roots in October-November.
