Kale Gourmet Collection is a stunning selection of 3 varieties of Kale of varied foliage colours that will bring a wonderful look to your veg patch! As with most kale varieties, these are also very easy to grow, are extremely hardy, and have excellent disease resistance. The varieties included are:‘Buttonhole’ – A striking variety with frilled, green leaves with pink veins. Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 45cm (18”).‘Midnight Sun’ – Wonderful, deep red textured leaves with pink mid veins that will be sure to wow! Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 60cm (24").‘Peacock White’ – An unusual but visually stunning white variety with serrated leaves, perfect for growing ornamentally. Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 45cm (18”)Grow kale in firm, rich fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well rotted farmyard manure to the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Apply lime to acid soils to reduce the acidity and lessen the risk of clubroot. When transplanting kale, plant it slightly deeper in the ground than it was in the tray provided. Plant kale at a distance of 60cm (24”) apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects.Kale is exceptionally hardy and requires little aftercare. Water when necessary and hoe between plants regularly to prevent weeds from establishing and bring insect larvae to the surface.
