Description
Standard rubber tyres have a requirement to be optimised for one or two characteristics, such as making the tyre harder and heavier for more puncture protection and durability, or softer and lighter with less puncture protection for extra grip. As the Randonneur tyre benefits from Vittoria's "ITS" (Intelligent tyre system) compound, there is no need to compromise on any one feature. This tyre reacts to how you are riding; when you’re rolling in a straight line it's hard and offers low rolling resistance and when you’re cornering, braking, or accelerating, the compound softens to offer increased grip. Technologies: Best For E-bikes: Vittoria also launches optimised range for electric bikes. The use of Graphene allows for longer battery life in urban usage, due to greatly reduced rolling resistance. Double Shielding: Double Shielding employs dual protective belts, a layer of first-generation PRB breaker in addition to a high-density rubber breaker strip under the tread. G+ Isotech Compound: G+Isotech® is Vittoria’s unique Graphene compound with revolutionary G+*, as provided by technology partner Directa Plus. No compromise is necessary with this compound that is superior in speed (rolling resistance), grip, durability and wear resistance. Nylon Casing: Nylon is a robust and durable artificial fiber traditionally used for strong tyre casings, equipping tyres to deliver the well-known Vittoria characteristics of comfort, speed and good handling. IT'S (Intelligent Tyre System): Vittoria tyres are now intelligent. IT’S compounds become harder and softer, depending on the needs of the rider. If the tyre is rolling straight, the rubber is at its hardest and offers low rolling resistance. If the rider breaks, accelerates or corners, the compounds soften and offer significantly more grip. Prior to the advanced development of Graphene, there was always the requirement of choosing between optimising, or aiming at, speed, grip, durability and puncture protection. Effectively, the introduction of Graphene allows for natural material barriers of rubber to be removed, which means that there is no longer the need for such compromises between speed, grip, durability and puncture resistance. All these features are now reaching their maximum possibilities.
