Zipp 404 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless CL Disc Brake Front Wheel The 404 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless CL Disc Brake Front Wheel has been designed via Zipp’s holistic “Total System Efficiency” concept that balances aerodynamics, weight, rolling resistance and comfort to create a performance ideal for road races or timed solo efforts. The full carbon rim utilises a hookless tyre interface that naturally reduces its weight without sacrificing any stiffness or strength. This hookless design has a 23mm wide internal measurement to better support the sidewalls of tubeless-ready tyres, helping them to grant reduced rolling resistance while using comfort-inducing lower inflation pressures. The wider internal rim dimension helps to smooth the tyre-to-rim interface, and this works in conjunction with the refined 58mm deep rim profile to scythe through the air and promote extra stability in crosswinds. A dimpled surface completes the rim, further lowering drag. A Zipp ZR1 DB hub spins smoothly and is durable, and is linked to the rim via Sapim spokes arranged in an efficient and durable two-cross lacing pattern.
