Be among the first in the UK to grow Cephalanthus 'Magical Moonlight' - it is neat, compact and highly ornamental, yet bursting with wildlife appeal. Perfectly round spheres and formed from florets of white tubular flowers with yellow-tipped, pin-like stamens. This deciduous shrub has a celestial appearance through mid-summer and a heavenly perfume too! The nectar-rich blooms attract pollinators and the birds receive their reward in autumn, when the golf ball-sized, lychee-like fruits offer an abundance of seeds. Cephalanthus 'Magical moonlight' thrives in most non-alkaline soils and even copes on difficult damp ground, where soils are prone to seasonal water logging. Grow Cephalanthus in fertile, humus rich, moist but well drained, non-alkaline soil. Choose a position where it will benefit from full sun.
