Description
Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Blekitny Aniol’ is a spectacular variety that is instantly recognisable for its distinctive flower colour and form. The pastel-blue blooms with crinkled sepals and pale yellow anthers have an unusual way of changing hue in different lights, making it endlessly fascinating. Flowering freely from June to September, Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Blekitny Aniol’, which translates to ‘Blue Angel’ is trouble free and easy to grow. Choose a position in sun or semi-shade when growing Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Blekitny Aniol’ and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, positioning the top of the root ball at a depth of 7.5cm below soil level, in order to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry, however these soil conditions can be improved with the addition of plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. If growing in containers, use a good quality soil-based compost. Train clematis plants onto a suitable support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding climbing frame. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Blekitny Aniol’ flowers in late summer on the current year’s growth. Pruning of Group 3 clematis should be undertaken in spring, before active growth begins, by cutting back all of the previous year’s stems to ta pair of healthy buds at around 20cm above ground level.
