Antique Victorian Copper Brass Cast Iron Fireside Tools Holder by WFB - Stylized Dolphin Head Feet. An oval holder which has a cast iron base with the mark WFB this crops up in research but little can be found of relevance. It has three stylized dolphin feet in cast brass, the mount points to the underside representing the dolphin rising from a wave. Two bands of brass to the body decorated with embossed decoration in an X form, three to each band. The rim has an applied brass rim which doubles up as an implement holder, this is decorated with a stylized sunburst pattern in an almost Arts & Crafts style. Interesting object in good condition with a few minor dents, it's got a very old look, it would never have been polished & that's it's virtue. Dating from the mid 19th century onwards we think, with clear later Arts & Crafts influences. It weighs just over 1 kgs. Diameter at the top is 13cms at the widest point.
