Fabulous set of fire irons comprising of shovel, tongs & poker. Made of solid brass, this fireside companion set dates from the beginning of the late Victorian period. Please note that the handle of the poker is different from the other two; in fact, it appears to have been fashioned out of a different set of tongs at some point in the past. It is nonetheless an elegant set, which would make for a wonderful decoration next to any fireplace, besides remaining functional. This set is in good antique condition, with normal signs of wear & use commensurate with age, including some wonderful natural patina giving the brass a rich golden colour. It remains structurally sound & in good working order. All three tools are approximately 66cm long, & have a combined weight of around 2300g.
