Hyacinth Midnight Mystic 1 Bulb
Description
This stunning Hyacinth was launched at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2005, in a frenzy of interest. No one had seen a true Black Hyacinth before, and Thompson and Morgan spent 16 years developing it! The beautiful jet-black flower head produces masses of tiny flowers, which in turn emit a fabulous strong aromatic fragrance. This Hardy bulb can be grown in silver patio pots or in garden beds or borders, although will appear truer black in the ground, and more purple in pots. In borders and beds, Hyacinths likes to be grown in full sun, in fertile well-drained soil, planted approximately 10cm deep and 8cm apart from each other. When planting in containers, plant in potting compost with the tip of the bulb just visible above the soil surface. Position them in a cool garage or other well ventilated, dark position with a maximum temperature of 7°C (44°F) for around 6 weeks. Water the bulbs only when necessary, keeping the soil moist and when shoots reach a height of 3 cm (1) move the containers to a cool bright position indoors.
