Description
Moisture-loving Lobelia siphilitica is ideal for growing in damp borders, bog gardens, pond margins and sides, and woodlands. This handsome hardy perennial grows into a statuesque plant that grows happily in sun or semi-shade. Producing tall spikes of bright blue flowers in summer, this shade tolerant plant has lovely light green foliage. Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 5cm (2") below water level. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 30cm (12"). Grow Lobelia siphilitica in a sheltered position in sun or semi-shade on reliably moist, fertile soil. Lobelia copes well with boggy soils and can be planted at the edge of ponds and streams with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 5cm (2") below water level.
