Thompson & Morgan Rose ‘Golden Showers’ is a well-loved, RHS AGM variety that produces long lasting displays of pretty, bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers. Ideal for smaller gardens and patio containers, this climbing rose is easily contained, and will even cope well in shadier positions. Plant at the earliest opportunity following delivery, choosing an area in full sun that has not had roses planted into it in recent years when growing Thompson & Morgan Rose ‘Golden Showers’, and place in rich, fertile, well-drained soil. Prior to planting, dig in plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole. Feed and water Thompson & Morgan Rose ‘Golden Showers’ and deadhead regularly to encourage more blooms. Remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. Begin pruning in late summer by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches, then reduce stems by two thirds. After pruning, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
