These perennials with their fragrant blooms are a must for your wildlife summer garden being particularly attractive to bees and other insects. The flower petals are edible and have a clove like taste and can be added to cakes, soups and salads too. Pot up Sweet William plug plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting into any fertile, well-drained soil, in full sun. Feed and water frequently until they are fully established.
