Thompson & Morgan Hellebore Christmas Carol 12Cm Potted Plant X 6
Description
Highlight your winter garden with the gleaming white flowers of Helleborus ‘Christmas Carol’ (Hellebore). Also known as the Christmas Rose, this variety is often in bloom from late December and will continue to put on a great show right through the early season until spring. The nectar-rich flowers are an essential source of nectar for early-emerging bumblebees. This shade tolerant plant is a great choice for brightening up the areas of the garden which are under trees or around shrubs, or with generally lower light levels. Evergreen foliage provides a year-round colour, texture and ground cover. Also a great addition to winter pot combinations with spring bulbs and bedding. Grow hellebores in neutral or alkaline soil, in dappled shade. Hellebores prefer a moist, humous rich, fertile soil that does not dry out in summer or sit waterlogged in winter. When growing hellebores on heavy clay or free draining gravel soils, add plenty of well rotted leaf mould or other organic matter to the soil prior to planting.Mulch hellebore plants with well rotted manure or garden compost each spring. Hellebores resent disturbance after planting and may take some time to re-establish. However when clumps become overcrowded, lifting and dividing of hellebores should be undertaken immediately after flowering. Caution: Hellebore sap may irritate the skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.Position: Full Sun/Partial Shade/Dappled ShadeHeight: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 45cm when fully establishedSupplied as 6x Helleborus ‘Christmas Carol’ plant in a 12cm potImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
