Grow your own crops of deliciously sweet cherry tomatoes with ‘Red Profusion’ F1 – a variety that is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best basket and container varieties available. ‘Red Profusion’ F1 can ripen up to 2 weeks earlier than ‘Tumbler’, producing heavy crops of 20g, sweet cherry tomatoes. Easy to grow with no side shooting needed, this bush cherry tomato forms a neat and compact plant with a superb branching habit, so one plant will easily fill a 30cm (12") hanging basket or patio pot. Perfect for growing in outdoors but these peat-free plants can also be grown in the greenhouse if required. Our grafted tomatoes offer greater vigour and increased resistance to soil-borne diseases and pests.Pot up and grow tomato plants on in warm frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sheltered position in full sun on fertile, reliably moist, well-drained soil, and transplant at a distance of 60cm (24") apart. Alternatively grow tomatoes in patio bags and containers in good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2. Drive a (5’) cane into the soil adjacent to each plant to support them as they grow and tie each main stem to its support with soft garden twine.Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size.
