Description
Imagine the sweet notes of hazelnuts, chocolate and dried fruit mixed together... Then throw in a refreshingly acidic hint of apple, and you'll get this delightful new blend from Two Chimps! Well-balanced, rich and incredibly vivid, it's bound to make the cloudiest day feel sunny again. In 1727, the land of Brazil had its first coffee seed planted in it. A century later, the coffee produced in this country already made up as much as 30% of the global supply. It took another hundred years for Brazil to increase this percentage to an impressive 80%. Today, it still holds the title of the world's biggest coffee producer. The old adage floating around in the coffee circles should come as no surprise then: people often say that when Brazil sneezes, the entire market catches a cold. It's not all about quantity though. The premium quality of Brazilian coffees is just as extraordinary, if not more so. Take the region of Cerrado Mineiro, for example, which is known the world over for its specialty varieties. It's where Ivone Corsi Da Silva, the farmer behind this coffee, has set up her 17-hectare estate. Ivone was helped and supported along the way by Café Delas, an initiative meant to aid women farmers in accessing the available resources, gaining the required know-how, and finding their own voice within the coffee business. Each of Café Delas coffees is sourced from women farmers only, and a portion of the profits is always dedicated to promoting other programs that empower women in the field.Ivone Corsi Da Silva comes from a family of coffee farmers. Nowadays, Ivone's closest neighbour is her sister, another woman farmer who's found success in growing coffee. Ivone's daughter and son-in-law are working alongside her too, ensuring that the family business will continue to flourish for generations to come. To these people, coffee is absolutely a family affair—and the warmth exuded by their coffees reflects the close bonds between them. While this coffee will turn out amazing regardless of how you brew it, it's suited particularly well for filter coffee makers, French presses and Chemex brewers.ORIGIN: Cerrado Mineiro, BrazilVARIETY: MixedALTITUDE: 980–1050 mPROCESS: NaturalROAST PROFILE: MediumCOFFEE TYPE: 100% specialty single-estate arabicaFLAVOUR PALETTE: Chocolate, Hazelnuts, Dried fruit, ApplesIngredients: roasted coffee beans.Storage conditions: once opened, keep sealed in a dark, dry and cool place.
